COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Historic District Commission listened to a proposal from Children’s Museum of Branch County Executive Director Shana Grife on Wednesday night to install a decorative art attachment on the building.
The projected art work will include a mural of flowers on the Hanchett Street side of the building with a large sunflower on the front of the museum.
She estimated the engineering drawings would cost $6,000.
Commission Chair Randall Hazelbaker felt Grife should pursue her idea.
City Planner Jake VanBoxel also gave the idea a thumbs up.
The Commission approved a motion which allows Grife to proceed with getting further engineering reports. Final approval from the H.D.C. would also be needed before the art work goes up.
I don’t think they should paint the side of this beautiful. It makes the building look slummy
What about the sign ordinance? Oh wait, this is the city, rules don’t apply to them.
