Donald “Don” Treacher, 86, of Coldwater, MI passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023, at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at Coldwater United Methodist Church with Pastor Scott Marsh officiating. Interment of ashes will follow the service in the church memorial garden.
Visitation will be held, prior to the service on Saturday, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Don was born April 17, 1937, in Coldwater, MI to Kenneth and Ruby (Toombs) Treacher. He attended Coldwater High School and worked for many years at Eckrich Foods in Quincy. Following a transfer and relocation to El Paso, TX, Don’s career path led him to starting his own construction business, Mt. Franklin Construction, which he owned and operated for 25 years, until his retirement.
Don returned home to Coldwater in 1998 and on April 10, 1998, he married Janet Farner in Las Vegas, NV.
Donald was a member of the United Methodist Church in Coldwater. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and horseback riding. Don was also a skilled carpenter and with great talent for woodworking. Above all he valued and cherished his family.
Don is survived by his wife Janet; his children Jeffrey Treacher of Texas, Eric (Rena) Treacher of Albuquerque, NM; his stepchildren Rich (Michelle) Hruska of Kalamazoo, MI, John Hruska of Lowell, MI, and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents; his first wife and mother of his children Norma Dirschell; his son Scott Treacher; his sister Tillie Sullivan and his brother Alton Treacher.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Coldwater United Methodist Church or to the Humane Society of Branch County.
