- Jacob Michael Quimby, 20, of Coldwater passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023, at his home.
Services will be held Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 12:15 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater, beginning with the Rosary. Rev. Fr. Dan Hyman from St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held, prior to the service Thursday, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home, Coldwater.
Jacob was born May 6, 2003, in Coldwater, MI, the son of Lori Carter and Damian Quimby.
Jacob was currently attending the Waldron Center in Coldwater. He loved riding the bus, going to school and spending time with his friends. Jacob enjoyed fishing, watching football and listening to music. He looked forward to riding in the convertible Bronco and enjoyed Aunt Michelle and Uncle Tracy’s goats.
Jacob was a happy boy who didn’t let his disabilities keep him from enjoying life. He smiled for everyone and had an uncanny way of just brightening the day.
Jacob is survived by his mother Lori (Chad) Carter of Coldwater, his father Damian Quimby of Decatur, AL; his siblings Kathleen Quimby of Coldwater, Corbin Quimby of Decatur, AL, Kaylee Quimby of Decatur, AL; his grandparents John and Pat Schmidt of Coldwater, Nila Quimby of Quincy, Myrle Carter of Bronson; his aunts and uncles Michelle (Tracy) Northern of Quincy and their sons Seth Cloves of Quincy and Jonathan (Amber) Schmidt of Angola, Michelle Nobach of Athens, Jason (Teresa) Quimby of Mohawk, TN, Jason Carter of CA and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother Matthew David Quimby in 2003, and his uncles John Quimby and Aaron Quimby
Memorials may be directed to the family to help with expenses.
