Barney Allen Gottschalk, 75, of Union City, passed away at home on Saturday, December 30, 2023.
In keeping with Barney’s wishes, he will be cremated and a gathering in his memory will be held at a later date.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Barney was born on November 2, 1948 to Leonard and Marjorie (Wessel) Gottschalk in Coldwater, Michigan. He graduated from Union City High School in 1968. He served in the National Guard during the Vietnam era.
Barney was a retired Master Carpenter and Journeymen Tool and Die. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time outdoors. He will be mostly missed by the friends who knew him best, Pee Wee, Denise, Curt, Dewayne and all the gals at the gas stations.
Barney is survived by his daughter Mitzi Gottschalk, granddaughter Jordan Gottschalk, brother Ralph (Judy) Gottschalk, sister Jo Ann (Dale) Manchester, and several nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents and brother Terry.
