COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Algansee Township Supervisor Russ Jennings told the Branch County Township Supervisors Association Monday night that if any other township would be interested in allowing registered golf carts on their roads, there should be a resolution that would be the same for everybody.
Outside of Union City, golf carts are not allowed on Branch County roads, but some lake residents have been pressing township officials to allow them in recent years.
Jennings said he has been approached by residents who want to use golf carts around the lakes.
He said one resolution would make things easier for the Branch County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff John Pollack said his deputies spend a lot of time during the summertime policing golf carts.
No formal action was taken after further discussion but it was generally agreed that if golf carts are pursued, there should something standardized that would cover every township.
