COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Zoning Board of Appeals approved a sign variance request from the majority owner of the new Shawarma Station restaurant at 64 East Chicago on a 4-0 vote Wednesday night.
Mohammed Abdullah said he was seeking the variance for a 32 square foot wall sign on the side of the building adding a lot of customers can’t find their door.
The restaurant opened last Friday and Abdullah said there has been a positive response.
City Planner Jake VanBoxel said he had no issues with the sign or its location.
The motion approved by the Z.B.A. called for the sign not to exceed 32 square feet and it has to be placed above the doorway entrance to the restaurant.
