COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – With Sheriff John Pollack announcing he plans to retire at the end of the year, there are at least two candidates to succeed him.
Coldwater Police Department School Resource Officer Robin Swartz has announced she is running for Sheriff in this year’s election.
She retired from the Branch County Sheriff’s Office in 2016 after 29 years of service, including 18 years as a Road Patrol Sergeant.
After retirement, she worked as a Corrections Officer with the Michigan Department of Corrections before accepting a position with the Coldwater Police Department in 2018.
Branch County Sheriff’s Department Deputy and former Michigan State Police Trooper Michael Thyng announced on New Year’s Day his intention to run for Sheriff in the 2024 election.
