COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Board of Commissioners Chair Tim Stoll presented his proposed timeline during Thursday’s work session to hire a new County Administrator.
Whoever is chosen would take over for Bud Norman who announced on January 4 he would be retiring at the end of 2024 when his current contract expires.
Stoll wants county officials to identify key characteristics for this position before they start accepting applications.
The position would be posted in the spring and a recruitment consultant will be used to help find qualified candidates.
Stoll proposed forming an interview committee.
First round interviews would begin in June. The committee will recommend two to four finalists to the Commissioners.
Stoll wants Commissioners to use a ballot to vote for the final candidate.
Commissioners brought forward Stoll’s proposal to next Tuesday’s meeting. Formal action is expected at that time.
