COLON, MI (WTVB) – Two suspects were arrested in Colon Friday morning in connection with a Michigan State Police investigation into a theft that recently took place in Branch County.
State Police at the Marshall post said the investigation led to securing a search warrant for a residence in the 700 block of East State Street in Colon.
The warrant was executed early Friday morning and several people were contacted.
Troopers say they found evidence in the form of firearms, narcotics, and other related items.
The two persons arrested were a 43-year-old man from Colon and a 44-year-old woman from Mendon.
Both were lodged in the St. Joseph County jail on multiple felonies. Their names are being withheld pending further action in court.
According to a State Police news release, the overall investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding the investigation is asked to call the State Police in Marshall at (269) 558-0500 or Crime Stoppers at (574) 288-STOP.
Troopers were assisted by the Michigan State Police Emergency Support team and the Southwest Enforcement Team.
