COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A woman who allegedly fired a gun in a drunken domestic argument over the weekend in Branch County was arraigned yesterday in District Court. 29-year old Torrie Ann Hoard of rural Quincy is charged with felonious assault with a dangerous weapon and was released from the County Jail after posting a $25,000 cash or surety bond.
The incident was reported around 4:00 a.m. Sunday at a home where Hoard lives on Clarendon Road in Butler Township. Michigan State Police say Hoard was armed with a nine millimeter handgun and during a struggle with her 37-year old boyfriend, the weapon discharged once, hitting the ceiling.
The man told troopers she aimed the gun at him, an accusation that was denied by Hoard.
Her next court date for a probable cause hearing is October 26, 2017.
