COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater’s waste hauler Republic Waste Services reports they collected less refuse and recyclables during 2023.
City Manager Keith Baker says in his report for Monday’s City Council meeting that Republic collected over 3,200 tons of refuse and over 487 tons of recyclables from the City’s 3,000 customers in 2023.
Baker says this represents about a 13 percent recycling level.
In addition, the total amount of waste and recycling collected in 2023 was down 3-point-27 percent.
More information about the City of Coldwater’s refuse collection program can be found on the City’s website at www.coldwater.org.

Just go for a walk in the woods and fields. You’ll find it. It just wasn’t collected because the homeless don’t bother with cleaning up after themselves. The more homeless we get, the less garbage they will “collect”.
Spot on Dan. Our city officials need to stop these lazy homeless who won’t work and the people who think piling junk all around their houses enhances the beauty of it. This town will soon look like a mini San Francisco.
