STURGIS, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater, Quincy and Bronson all competed at the Sturgis Kiwanis Cross Country Invitational Saturday.
Coldwater finished second in the Division Two boys meet with 73 points. Coldwater’s Shuaib Aljabaly won the race by over 10 seconds. Earning medals for Coldwater were Kyle Foulk (13th), Ayash Ahmed (15th), Adam Bailey (20th), Mohamed Saleh (24th) and Jose Blankenship (27th).
Bronson finished first ahead of Quincy in their division. Nathan Nohr was 11th overall while Ian Trall was 19th. Four Bronson runners finished in the top 30. Luis Ortiz was 16th. Also earning medals for the Vikings were Colin Ransbottom (18th), Hunter Trine (26th) and Daniel Barajas (29th).
In the girls portion of the Sturgis Kiwanis Invitational on Saturday, Coldwater finished fourth in Division Two. Quincy finished first ahead of Bronson in their division. Coldwater’s Kathy Potter finished second behind Meg Scheske of Sturgis. Elka Machan was fourth for the Cardinals while Cece DeWitt was 17th and Rene Aerts was 29th.
Xochitl Garcia of Bronson was sixth while Quincy’s Madelyn Allman was ninth.
