COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – John Bolton was installed as the new President of the Tibbits Opera Foundation & Arts Council Board of Directors during their annual meeting last Thursday night.
He was previously the Board’s Vice President and has been involved with the board for many years.
Bolton wants people to realize Tibbits is more than just summer theater.
Elected to the Board of Directors were Jennifer Poe, Dylan Foster, John Renshaw and Terry Ann Whelan.
Outgoing board president Chris Donbrock acknowledged the board members coming off the board with special recognition for Rick Merrill who served for 12 years including three years as board president. Also recognized were Dave Coyle who served for nine years and Angie Marsh, Cisco Ortiz and Daniel Gordon who each served three years.
According to Tibbits Executive Director Christine Delaney, “Overall the theatre is doing well. We certainly are not back to pre-pandemic levels in terms of attendance, ticket sales or even volunteers, but it has definitely improved. We have so much gratitude to our members and everyone in the community who continue to support us.”
As a nonprofit organization and according to its bylaws, Tibbits must hold a general meeting of its membership each year. The purpose of the meeting is to present an annual report and elect members to the board of directors.
