COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – An update on infrastructure improvements was reviewed during Thursday’s Branch County Board of Commissioners work session.
The Commissioners have allocated $3 million of the county’s ARPA funds for courtroom and bathroom renovations along with painting and caulking.
They approved a request from County Administrator Bud Norman to send out a Request For Proposals on flooring work which would include new carpeting.
Norman wanted to get RFP’s out for some other work but Commission Chair Tim Stoll balked.
Norman addressed a concern from Commissioner Tom Mathew who preferred companies from Branch County be hired if that was possible.
The flooring work will be performed at the Branch County Courthouse and in the Annex building.
Norman told Commissioners in December there were up to 30 items on the list for improvements in different county buildings.
