COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners approved a request from Sheriff John Pollack during their meeting Tuesday that mirrored tint be placed on the front and back control room windows at the County Jail.
A tinted window would also be placed on a small maximum cell door.
Pollack says this is being done to provide more safety for jail employees.
The control rooms are kept dark so staff can view the many closed circuit security monitors. But those same monitors light the inside, which make it easy for people outside the room to see what areas of the jail are being monitored.
Mystic Tint of Jonesville will perform the work at a cost of over $1,400, which is already covered in the Sheriff’s Department budget.
