CALIFORNIA TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Sheriff’s Department is looking for a 20-year-old man from Montgomery who was involved in a personal injury accident on Sunday morning on Delmar Road south of Southern Road in California Township.
The Sheriff’s Department says the man and a passenger identified as a 20-year-old woman from Waldron ran from the scene of the crash after it was reported at 6:52 a.m..
Sheriff Deputies found a Chrysler 300 in a ditch against a tree when they arrived but none of the vehicle occupants.
An immediate search in the area was conducted for any passengers and none were found.
Calls came in later in the morning of a male and female running through back yards in the Ray Michigan area, and that the male covered in blood.
The Branch County K-9 was called in to conduct a search. The female was apprehended and taken into custody, and had a minor injury to her foot from running from police.
Branch County Sheriff Deputies were assisted by Life-Care Ambulance, the Fremont Fire Department, the Indiana State Police and the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.
This accident still remains under investigation by the Branch County Sheriff’s Office.
