WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTVB) – Seventh District Republican Congressman Tim Walberg released a statement on Monday which stated he has tested positive for COVID-19.
Walberg said he got the news on Sunday about his positive test. He went to say in a statement released by his office, “My symptoms are mild, and I remain in good spirits. It has been more than a week since I have attended a public event. In conjunction with health officials, my office and I are in the process of reaching out to individuals I had contact with before my self-isolation began.”
He added the work of health care professionals and front line workers throughout the pandemic has been nothing short of heroic, and he continues to be grateful for their dedication.
Walberg says, “As we enter the winter months, I encourage everyone to remain vigilant and adhere to public health guidelines to combat this virus.”
He plans to carry out his duties from home until he is fully recovered.
