COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker provided an update to the City Council Monday on work being performed at the historic Branch District Library building which is owned by the City of Coldwater.
Baker said the work includes repairing mortar joints and sealing sections of the foundation to prevent water damage. In addition repairs will be made to the front steps, columns and railing.
The steps will still not be available to the public since the library does not use the front doors for public access.
The work is being made possible by contributions from the city, the Branch District Library and a Branch County Community Foundation fund.
On another matter, Baker reported the milling and repaving of sections of Hatch Avenue, North Hudson and Elm Street is scheduled to be completed by Wednesday, weather permitting. Temporary lane closures are in place and drivers are asked to caution when traveling through the work zones.
