COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater’s Library Advisory Board will request $2,000 from the Library Memorial Fund during Monday night’s Coldwater City Council meeting to facilitate a scrap book project covering the history of the former Coldwater State Home and Training School also known as the former Florence Crane Correctional Facility.
City Clerk Shauna Chávez says in a letter to the Council that it’s believed the project is in line with the mission of the Holbrook Heritage Room.
She says they have received a quote from Randall Hazelbaker to produce a scrapbook about the History of the Public-School project which will be located in the Heritage Room as a benefit to the public and to preserve the History of the State Home and Training School project.
The funding requested to achieve this project will be used to cover scanning and printing about 75 photos as well as editing already existing historical information
and transcription of interviews taken 20 years ago.
