COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man was ordered to serve 55 months to 20 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court after entering a no contest plea to being in possession of methamphetamine.
29-year-old Darin Edward Smullen was given credit for 52 days already spent in jail.
He was arrested by Coldwater Police last August after he failed to appear for a Circuit Court sentencing hearing three months before in another case.
After his capture, he was sentenced last September to serve 38 months to five years in prison after entering a guilty plea to malicious destruction of personal property over $1,000 in connection with the attempted theft of a catalytic converter from a vehicle on Industrial Avenue one year ago Monday.
