Raymond Glenn “Ray” Lewis, 94 of Coldwater, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater, MI.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater, MI.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
He was born May 29, 1929 in Bridgewater, MI to Glenn and Pauline (Barnes) Lewis. Raymond married Betty Kinyon and she preceded him in death.
Ray honorably served his country in the United States Air Force and upon completion of his service he pursued a 30-year career with Shaw Shoe in Coldwater where he ultimately retired.
He enjoyed going to the races as often as he could, both on dirt track and pavement. Ray also held an appreciation for lawn care as he always looked forward to mowing his lawn and tending to his garden; but his greatest passion of all was his family.
He will be dearly missed by his cherished family and friends.
Ray leaves behind his children Randy (Toni) Lewis of Quincy, Linda (Mike) Witherby of LaPorte, IN; his sister Bernadine Moon of Coldwater; his 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and his many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife Betty, he was preceded in death by his parents and his infant granddaughter Michelle Witherby.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Humane Society of Branch County or to the American Cancer Society.
