LANSING, MI (WTVB) – 35th District Republican State Representative Andrew Fink has written a letter to Democratic House Appropriations Chair Angela Witwer about specific public safety funding in his district that he believes should be included in the state budget this year.
According to a statement from Fink’s office, the priorities include funding requests made by local public emergency services in Branch, Hillsdale and Lenawee Counties.
One of the funding priorities would assist the City of Coldwater in updating the Public Safety building on Division Street. Fink would like to see funding provided to help incorporate new equipment, communication systems and other technological advancements.
Fink’s funding requests also include helping Hillsdale County install a new 800 MHz emergency radio communication system and helping the Montgomery Fire Department construct additional space in its main building which would allow all equipment to be stored at the same location, thus preventing emergency response delays.
