QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Village Council approved the village’s portion of out of pocket costs for a new fire truck on Tuesday night.
After going back and forth with MML Insurance regarding a truck that was damaged in November of 2022 when a fire destroyed a home on Briggs Road, the Village of Quincy recently learned that MML has decided to total the fire truck and send the village money to replace it.
The truck was insured for $703,600. The first part of the payout in the amount of $35,000 has been issued to the village. The rest of the money will come once the village has an invoice for a new truck which costs over $1-point-2 million.
An upfront payment would result in a discount of over $155,000 which would mean the total for the new truck would be over $1,115,000.
That would leave a $447,350 out of pocket cost for the three Quincy Fire Association members.
The Village of Quincy would pay over $111,000. Algansee Township’s share is over $147,000 while Quincy Township would pay over $187,000.
Action on the out of pocket costs have not been taken yet by Algansee and Quincy Townships.
