HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – ProMedica and Hillsdale Hospital made a joint statement on Thursday which announced a collaboration bringing oncology services to the greater Hillsdale community.
They say this will allow for a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach, connecting patients to a vast network of oncology experts, treatments and support services closer to home.
The ProMedica Cancer Institute will maintain an office inside Hillsdale Hospital for telehealth visits with ProMedica Physician Group medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and genetic counselors.
Nurse navigators will be onsite to help guide patients through their cancer care.
They will facilitate telehealth appointments; work with the care team to provide compassionate, supportive and individualized care; schedule appointments for chemotherapy, radiation and subsequent testing; and provide education and support to patients and their families.
Patients will have the option to utilize lab, radiology tests and blood transfusion services at Hillsdale Hospital as well as oncology treatment services at ProMedica Hickman Cancer Center in Adrian.
Patients will also have access to the ProMedica Cancer Institute Healing Care Program.
