CENTREVILLE, MI (WTVB) – It was a double celebration on the Glen Oaks Community College campus on Thursday.
They hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the completion of the north campus renovation project and a groundbreaking ceremony for the renovation of the south campus.
The renovation of the north campus cost $7.3 million. It included the upgrading of the E. J. Shaheen Learning Commons along with significant infrastructure upgrades.
Pending U.S.D.A. funding of $7.7 million, officials at Glen Oaks says the south campus will be renovated.
The work will include a new entrance to the athletic areas, improvements to the fitness center, conversion of the Nora Hagen Theatre into an instructional auditorium along with new Allied Health classrooms and labs.
Renovation and upgrades are being perform on all interior spaces and exterior wall systems on the original Glen Oaks facility which was built in 1969.
