COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man was ordered to serve two to seven years in the Michigan Department of Corrections on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court after he entered no contest pleas to a pair of charges involving his computer and child sex crimes.
41-year-old Michael Paul Lane entered pleas to distributing and promoting child abuse and being in possession of child sexually abusive material.
In exchange for the no contest pleas, ten other counts were dismissed by prosecutors. Lane was also given credit for 329 days already served in the Branch County Jail.
Lane was arrested in October 2016 following a five month Michigan State Police investigation.
