BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Just a week after temperatures got into the low 70s, Branch County shivered on Thursday morning as the mercury dropped into the teens.
The calendar may say March 21 but the temperature at the Branch County Memorial Airport dropped to 17 degrees at 7:00 a.m. while it dropped to 15 degrees in Quincy.
Many other locations in the area were reporting temperatures in the upper teens.
It was cold Thursday morning but not record cold. According to the Weather Channel, Coldwater’s record low temperature for March 21 is nine above set back in 1986.
The temperatures have taken a nose dive this week after getting into the low 70s three times since February 27. Highs have only been in the 30s three out of the last four days.
The normal high in Coldwater for March 21 is 47 degrees.
