QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Village Council approved a request from Village Manager Eric Zuzga Tuesday for the hiring of a Special Projects and Event Coordinator.
The part time position was approved for 15 hours a week at $15 per hour.
Whoever is selected for the position would assist the Village Manager with public relations and marketing efforts. They would also be responsible for coordinator various events in Quincy. It’s hoped the person hired would be able to relaunch the Quincy Farmer’s Market and serve as its administrator.
Zuzga says the position will be filled quickly as there is planning for 2018 events underway.
In other business, the Council approved a Water and Wastewater rate study that was required as part of the village’s Stormwater, Asset Management and Wastewater grant from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. The SAW Grant would help fund the study.
In addition, a proposal from Zuzga for an early retirement program was pulled from the agenda. Zuzga says the employee who would have been eligible under this program has decided not to retire.
