CENTREVILLE, MI (WTVB) – A 31-year-old from the Schoolcraft area is in the St. Joseph County jail after allegedly leading police on a high speed chase Sunday afternoon.
The suspect will face drunken driving, fleeing and eluding and other charges.
Michigan State Police say the driver reached speeds of up to 100 mph after a trooper tried to pull him over near Colon.
The trooper broke off the chase for safety sake, but another State Trooper spotted the suspect and attempted a second stop.
The suspect sped off again, this time losing control north of Three Rivers and rolling his vehicle several times.
Troopers say he tried to make a run for it but was eventually tracked down by a K-9 hiding in a field off Hutchinson Road and arrested.
