OVID TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Plans for a new Ovid Township Hall have been finalized. The Ovid Township Board formally approved the plans submitted by Bell Engineering of Bryan, Ohio on Monday.
It’s hoped a contractor for the project can selected by Thanksgiving with the new hall ready for business by June 2018.
Township Clerk Tammie Omo says the new hall will be very similar to the former structure which was destroyed in a March 1st fire. Changes include shared office space and a security window.
The old town hall had only been used for 12 years before it went up in flames. A temporary trailer has been used to conduct township business.
Omo says voting in the November general election for Ovid Township residents will be held at the Coldwater Lake Association office. The only item on the ballot for Ovid Township voters will be the Coldwater School bond and millage question.
