Agnes Hendrick, 93, of Union City, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Agnes will take place at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation, 1276 Tate Trl. Union City, MI, 49094 with Pastor Bayani Pastrana officiating.
A visitation will be held from 4:00- 6:00 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024, also at Lighthouse.
Private interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Union City.
Agnes was born on October 14, 1930 in Bloomfield, Vermont to Peter and Edna (Drew) Descoteaux. She married her husband, Leslie Hendrick, on November 6, 1952 in Portland, Maine. Together they raised 4 children. He preceded her in death in 1983.
Agnes loved being a mother and grandmother to her family. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing games, spending time outside on long walks, and gardening. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (S.D.A.) in Burlington and she volunteered at the S.D.A. Community Services Center in Burlington, as well as the Methodist Thrift Shop. Agnes was also a Sabbath School Teacher.
She is survived by her daughters, Rene (Ralph) Renshaw of Bronson and Lorna (Ernest) Lucas of Union City; her sons, Patrick Hendrick of Union City and Raymond (Diana) Blais of Muskegon; along with 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, her brothers, Peter Descoteaux of Ile Perrot, Montreal, and Harold Descoteaux of Coaticook, Quebec, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Leslie, she was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Wanda and Ina, and a brother, Charlie.
