CENTREVILLE, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency says they have been notified by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services that a horse in St. Joseph County has tested positive for the West Nile virus.
This is one of 13 horses that have tested positive for West Nile virus this year.
Health Officer Rebecca Burns is reminding horse owners to vaccinate their animals to protect them against West Nile Virus and Eastern Equine Encephalitis.
West Nile is a mosquito-borne disease which poses a risk to people and animals.
