COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Beech House at the Coldwater Community Center is ready to open in downtown Coldwater.
Community Center Board President Kathy Bappert told the Coldwater City Council on Monday night that a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house has been scheduled for April 27.
The building was unoccupied for about five years before the Community Center Board presented the idea to the Coldwater City Council for the multicultural center.
The non-profit corporation formed by community members and a number of volunteers flipped the former Putnam Funeral Home at 11 East Chicago which was built in 1856 into a community center.
The Coldwater City Council approved a one year lease with the group in November of 2022. It was renewed for three years last fall.

Nice to see this old historical home restored and serving a worthwhile function.
