COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two persons were injured, one critically, on Wednesday evening in a two vehicle crash on the east side of Coldwater.
Coldwater Police say the crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV took place on U.S. 12 near Lott Road at about 7:06 p.m..
They say a 29-year-old Coldwater man was driving the westbound motorcycle on U.S. 12 when it was struck by a Chevrolet SUV that was trying to pull out of the Meijer parking lot and head east.
The SUV was being driven by a 48-year-old Camden woman.
The motorcyclist was taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital and later flown to Ascension Borgess hospital in Kalamazoo.
At last report, he was in critical condition.
The driver of the SUV was treated at ProMedica and released.
The names of the persons involved in the crash were not released.
Coldwater Police said the motorcyclist did not appear to be wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The Michigan State Police assisted Coldwater Police with traffic control and provided a traffic crash reconstructionist.
The Coldwater Fire Department and Lifecare Ambulance also assisted at the scene.
