COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater is reminding residents about the rules and regulations that cover garage and yard sales as well as open burning.
Signs for garage and yard sales are only allowed on the property of the sale and can be no bigger than six square feet.
The signs have to located behind the sidewalk and must be removed within 48 hours after the event has been finished.
Signs promoting garage sale can not be placed on utility poles, street corners or in the right-of-way.
In addition, open burning is not allowed within the City limits. Burning is only allowed in a tire ring or fire pit with a lid to prevent embers from escaping.
If there is too much smoke, the Fire Department may have to be brought in to put out the fire.
