CENTREVILLE, MI (WTVB) – It was a trophy-winning day for the Coldwater High School cross country runners Saturday at the Centreville Invitational. The Cards brought home first place in the Boy’s Freshman-Sophomore Race, in the Freshman-Sophomore Girl’s Race and in the Junior-Senior Boy’s Race.
Among the 11 medals earned by the Cardinals, three were gold for first place finishes won by Ayash Ahmed in the Boy’s Freshman-Sophomore Race , Elka Machan in the Freshman-Sophomore Girl’s Race, and Shuaib Aljabaly in the Junior-Senior Boy’s Race. .
Bronson and Quincy were among 13 schools that competed at the Battle Creek Lakeview Invitational on Saturday. Bronson was third in the Division Two boys race while Quincy was fifth. Luis Ortiz of Bronson was fourth while his teammate Colin Ransbottom finished eighth.
Top finishers for the Orioles were Nathan Nohr who was fifth and Ian Trail as he finished 16th.
Quincy was fourth in the Division Two girls race while Bronson was sixth. Quincy’s Harmony Harpster won the Division Two race while Madelyn Allman was fourth. Xochitl Garcia of Bronson was third while teammate Meghan Vaughn was 21st.
