Jack “Lefty” Earnest Kipfer, 93 of Coldwater fell eternally asleep Monday, April 22, 2024 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
He has found peace and rest in his eternal home with Christ whom he trusted as his Savior. We who know and love him best can only be forever thankful for our time together.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
The family will receive guests for visitation that morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Interment will take place at Woodbridge Cemetery in Camden, MI at 3:00 Thursday, April 25.
He was born September 20, 1930 to Earnest and Alice (Macey) Kipfer in Quincy, MI. On October 4, 1977 Jack married Carol J. Beagle and she survives.
Jack was dedicated to his work where he spent the first half of his adult life at GTE in telecommunications as a troubleshooter.
He was also the owner and operator of Lefty’s Lounge for 14 years but the work he enjoyed the most was buying and selling antiques. Jack loved going to auctions; the environment and thrill of the sale was something he truly looked forward to.
Lefty also valued his time shared with the Amish community, the countless trades and bartering transactions, numerous hours spent constructing beautiful cabinetry, and most of all the irreplaceable friendships.
He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions and liked to play a good game of cards with friends whenever he could. Lefty will be dearly missed as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.
In addition to his wife Carol Kipfer of Coldwater, Jack leaves behind his children Joy (Gordon) Porter of Quincy, Gaylyn Scarfo of Canada, Kimberly (Layne) Sours of Coldwater; his sister Betty Barnes of Coldwater; his half-siblings Sally Jo Miller of CA, Tommy Kipfer of Germany; his 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and his many loving nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Mary Paradine.
Memorial donations are suggested to Lockwood Community Church or to ELARA Caring Hospice of Kalamazoo.
