Shiery retiring from BISD, Board hires Emili Jones to handle Finance & Operations

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A long time employee of the Branch Intermediate School District will be retiring this summer.

Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations Diane Shiery is retiring after serving the district for 45 years.

She has served in her current position for nine years. Before that, Shiery was an administrative assistant from 1979 until 2015.

Her last day with the district will be on August 30.

With Shiery’s pending retirement, the B.I.S.D. Board of Education approved the hiring on Wednesday of Emili Jones as the district’s new Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations.

Jones has been working as the Business Manager for the Jackson Northwest School District.

Superintendent Kris Jenkins says she was one of seven applicants for the position.
