MENDON, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office is investigating three residential break ins overnight in the Village of Mendon.
Undersheriff Jason Bingaman says the first one took place Sunday night at about 9:00 p.m. in the 200 block of Fletcher Street.
The homeowner returned home after several hours to find signs someone was inside the home while they were gone.
Then at about 2:00 a.m. on Monday, Deputies responded to a report of someone
trying to enter a home in the 200 block of East Main Street.
Bingaman says the subject was scared off by the homeowner. The area was searched but no one was located.
The third break-in was reported at about 3:30 a.m. on Monday morning in the 100
block of East Main after the homeowner found a subject inside their residence.
The Sheriff’s Department says the subject is a white male who is about five-feet-eight inches tall with a tattoo on his upper right arm.
He fled the residence heading south. A K9 unit was called to the scene but the suspect was not found.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking residents in the area to check security cameras for any footage of the suspect. Anyone with additional information is asked to call (269) 467-9045, extension 330.
