COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Police Department recently held their annual Awards Ceremony as part of National Police Week observances.
Along with recognizing achievements like completion of the Field Training Officer program for new officers, excellent performance evaluations, and completion of professional development courses, special recognition was also given to several officers.
Sergeant Mathew Schoenauer was honored with the Police Heart award after he suffered a serious injury in the line of duty.
Sergeant Sarah Gunneman was named the Officer of the Year and received a Police Commendation for her work on a child abuse investigation.
Officer Chase Kreucher was given a Police Commendation for a drug investigation and Officer Mohamed Saleh received a Lifesaving Award for providing immediate first aid to a critically injured stabbing victim.
