HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – Bronson, Quincy, and Union City were in action Friday at the MHSAA Division 3 Regional hosted by Hillsdale High School. In the boys meet, Union City was 5th with 58 points, Quincy 9th with 35 points, and Bronson 12th with 22½ points. The host Hornets won the regional championship. In the girls meet, Union City was 4th with 63 points, Quincy 6th with 54 points, and Bronson 14th with 14 points. Jackson Lumen Christi was the regional champion.
The top two finishers in each event advance to the state finals, along with those that meet the published additional qualifying standard. A total of 12 individuals and 5 relay teams will represent Branch County at the Division 3 Lower Peninsula Meet at Kent City on June 1st.
Qualifiers from Union City include Hunter Sinke (3rd in the boys 400m run), Nathaniel Maurer (3rd in the boys 300m hurdles), Logan Cole (2nd in the boys shot put and discus), Nevada Gillons (2nd in the girls 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, and long jump), all four boys relay teams, and the girls 4×100 relay team.
For Quincy, Brookelyn Parker won both girls hurdle races, while Corey Turner won the boys pole vault. Also moving on for the Orioles: Clayton Benson (4th in boys 110m hurdles, 7th in boys 300m hurdles, and 5th in high jump), Alex Dunn (4th in boys pole vault), and Kaleb Handy (5th in boys pole vault).
And the Bronson qualifiers are Jaiden Hayes (5th in girls 300m hurdles), Boston Bucklin (7th in boys 800m run), and Kamron Brackett (3rd in boys high jump).

Coldwater will compete in the Division 2 Regional Saturday at Gull Lake.
