WHEATLAND TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A crash involving a passenger car and a motorcycle on Sunday afternoon in Hillsdale County injured the motorcycle driver and his passenger.
The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department says the crash was reported at 1:19 p.m. at the intersection of East Bacon and Jerome Roads.
Deputies determined that a 2018 Toyota Corolla driven by 38-year-old Tairum Smith of Quincy which contained three passengers pulled out from North Jerome Road onto East Bacon Road and struck a westbound 1994 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
The motorcycle driver was identified as 62-year-old Mark Bice of Brooklyn. He was taken to Hillsdale Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
The motorcycle passenger, 60-year-old Beverly Bice of Brooklyn, was air lifted by Life Flight to Michigan Medicine.
Smith and the passengers in the Toyota Corolla were not injured and later released from the crash scene.
Deputies were assisted by Addison Fire and Rescue, the Hudson Area Ambulance Service, the Somerset Township Police Department and the Michigan State Police.
The crash remains under investigation by the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office.
