COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two of four vacant administrator positions for the Coldwater Community Schools have been filled, with school officials hoping to fill the other two soon.
Steve Hope was introduced as the new Coldwater High School principal at Monday night’s Board of Education meeting.
He recently has been the school director at Flex Tech High School in Brighton, Michigan, and previously the principal at Penn High School in Mishawaka, Indiana. One of his daughters lives in Coldwater.
Hope replaces Ted Davis, who is leaving to assume the superintendent’s position for Hillsdale Community Schools.
Current eighth grade English and Language Arts teacher Katie Fleming has been selected as assistant principal at Legg Middle School. Current principal Jacob Kumor was elevated from that position to principal earlier this year when Julie Slusher retired.
The district this summer still needs to fill the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum position after Penny Brockway submitted her resignation, and the Coldwater High School assistant principal job after Krista Searles announced her retirement.
