COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Board of Education approved a strategic plan for Coldwater Community Schools on Monday night.
The plan was put together after residents of the district provided input earlier this year in a brief on-line survey.
Superintendent Paul Flynn said they were pleasantly surprised by the number of people who responded.
Anonymous individual responses were combined with those from other stakeholders to provide input to the Board and the Strategic Planning Committee.
Flynn said the committee arrived at three goals.
The goals called for creating and maintaining high quality instruction for all students in a safe and collaborative culture, to sustain financial responsibility and to foster a stronger connection between the school and the community through collaborative initiatives and efforts.
The survey asked what are the current strengths of Coldwater Community Schools and what are some areas of improvement that should be considered.
Respondents were also asked what current barriers exist that would make it difficult to implement new initiatives or make any significant changes.
The survey was available in English, Arabic, Spanish, and French.
