COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Downtown Development Authority Board gave a positive recommendation Wednesday to an ordinance that would amend planning and zoning codes for ground floor apartments in the downtown area that are not located on U.S. 12.
A public hearing on the ordinance for proposed C-2 Zoning District changes covering multifamily dwellings will be held during the Coldwater Planning Commission meeting September 5, 2017.
The Coldwater City Council will make the final decision on the ordinance. If they say yes, it would go into effect three weeks later.
Under the proposed changes, the minimum height for multifamily dwellings has to be at least two stories.
The changes are needed so that a proposed four story apartment complex in the Milnes Plaza parking lot can move forward.
