COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners decided during their work session on Thursday not to move forward with the installation of solar panels and a geothermal heating and cooling system at the county building which houses the Community Health Agency offices.
A proposed solar array would have been installed at the site of the old Branch County Jail once it’s torn down.
Representatives from Veregy Corporation were on hand via Zoom.
Commissioners had numerous concerns following a presentation two weeks ago, most notably how much will it cost as indicated by comments from Jon Houtz and Chair Tim Stoll.
Meanwhile, Branch County Administrator Bud Norman said the bids for the demolition on the old County Jail are due on Friday.
He is scheduled to bring a recommendation to Commissioners during their regular meeting next Tuesday.
