Elizabeth J. “Betty” Anderson, 88, of Quincy passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
A memorial mass will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul Catholic Chapel, 8780 East 700 North, Fremont, Indiana.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
She was born August 25, 1935, in Michigamme, MI to Joseph and Geraldine (Racine) Chantelois. She married Curtis Duane Anderson on July 30, 1955, and he preceded her in death on February 2, 2022.
Betty graduated from St. Thomas High School in Ann Arbor, MI in 1953. Although Betty worked in the banking industry and then at JC Penny in Coldwater, MI her favorite job was that of a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt to many nieces and nephews and friend.
Betty was active with the hospital auxiliary for many years and the St. Paul Catholic Boosters Club.
Surviving are her four children, Suzanne (Tim) Schmidt of Plymouth, IN, Kevin “Mark” Anderson of Quincy, David (Nancy) Anderson of Gillette, WY and Linda “Teresa” From of Hillsdale; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence (Sibyl) Chantelois of Summerfield, FL; and three sisters, Shirley (Mike) Anderson of Saline, MI, Margaret (Rex) Roberts of Lake, MI, and Cathy (James) Scudder of Brooklyn, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Tyler Curtis; and brother, Joseph Chantelois.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater or the St. Paul Catholic Booster Club.
