QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Just in time for the start of the new school year, the big street and water main construction project in Quincy is finished.
Outside of some touch up work, streets will be open Tuesday as Quincy students head back to the classroom.
Work has been performed for the last three months on East Jefferson, Fulton and Colfax.
The top layer of asphalt was put down late last week. Lawn areas are being restored as part of the final work on the project.
Hoffman Brothers of Battle Creek replaced 123 year old water mains with 3,100 feet of 12 and eight inch water mains.
The project was made possible thanks to a $1 million Michigan Economic Development Corporation grant that was awarded to Quincy last year.
