BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater got to the semi-finals of the Battle Creek St. Philip Carrie Adams Invitational on Saturday. The Cardinals finished first in their pool after defeating Jonesville 25-21, 25-17, splitting with Leland 22-25, 25-19, and defeating Hanover Horton 25-22, 25-10. This put Coldwater as the 4th seed overall out of 20 teams and matched the Cardinals against the 5th seed Pennfield.
Coldwater came out on top in the Quarter-Finals 25-21, 23-25, 15-11. They then lost to Kalamazoo Central in the semi-finals 20-25, 25-16 and 12-15.

The Cardinals play again Monday at the Vicksburg tournament and have their first home game on Thursday vs. Adrian.
For Thursday’s home match it is not only parent’s night but it will also be Youth Night. Any of the athletes who came to the Cardinals volleyball camp this summer and wear their camp t-shirt that they received will get in free, accompanied by their parents.
Quincy went 2-2 in the St Philip tournament. In pool play, the Orioles lost to Buchanan (14-25, 22-25) then split with Fowler (15-25, 25-16) and Birmingham Groves (15-25, 25-23). Quincy advanced to the Silver Bracket which resulted in a loss to Fowler (8-25, 19-25).
Allison Parshall had 43 assists, 19 digs, 6 kills, 4 blocks, and 3 aces. Victoria Waligora added 17 kills, 17 digs, 2 blocks, and 2 aces. Taylor Todd contributed 12 kills, 13 digs,and 1 ace. Cailyn Cook had 21 digs, 3 kills, and 1 ace. Emily Hollenbaugh added 9 kills, 4 digs, 3 blocks, and 2 aces. Mackenzie Horsfall had 9 kills and 3 blocks.
Quincy plays Marshall Academy at home Wednesday.
Defending Class C State Champion Bronson picked up where they left off as they went 5-0 in their invitational and did not lose a game on Saturday. The Vikings defeated Homer, North Adams/Jerome and Centreville in pool play before defeating Homer in the semi-finals and North Adams-Jerome in the finals.
Keona Salesman had 55 kills to lead the Vikings while Kiana Mayer had 119 assists and Adyson Laky had 34 digs.
