Roberta was born February 12, 1932 to Wayne and Olive (Mason) Murdock in Union City, MI. She married Gerald Worden in 1966 in Burlington, MI. Gerald preceded her in death in November 1978.
Roberta showed her care and compassion for others in many ways, including her work at the state home as a caregiver for over 30 years.
After her time at the state home, she worked at HeadStart as a bus driver for 23 years, retiring in 2007. Roberta took an interest in her bus families needs, always wanting to help them in any way she could.
Roberta was a member of the Northview Church of Christ. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, but most of all looked forward to spending time with her family. After their family functions when there was leftover food, Roberta always made it a point to take the leftovers to the local food banks.
In addition to her passion for helping others, she was a strong advocate for animals, and made it a point to donate to the Humane Society of Branch County every month.
Roberta is survived by her children, Sally Erlewine of Coldwater, Wayne (Cherly) Karn of Battle Creek; her sister Carol Counterman of Onstead; her grandchildren Sonya (Darin) Wolfcale, Brandon (Rachel) Karn, Jessica (Robert) Belshay; her great grandchildren Isaiah Zepf, Brandon Zepf, Nikole McGrath, Julia Karn; her great great grandchildren Ronan McGrath, Francesca McGrath, Thomas Stars; and many nieces and nephews.
